Weekend…

Yesterday was one of those days where you wish that you just had stayed in bed. After eating my breakfast I had made some coffee. The coffee was still on the plate, while I was just leaving the kitchen for a few minutes. However I completely

forgot the coffee, and a few minutes became 50 minutes. Went back to the kitchen, where I was meet by a fog of smoke. And there where no coffee left for me:(

I really liked my espresso-maker, bought in Italy this summer, and discovered they are slightly more expensive in Norway. But suppose I should be happy that the espresso-maker was the only thing that got destroyed. I’ve also just operated out a tooth which has made me a temporally “addicted” to pain killers:) All this made me therefore decide to leave the city and visit my sister and here family for a night. Which was lovely, despite the fact that my four-year-old nephew woke me up at 7 am a Saturday morning.

Some knitting has also been done this week. I’ve finished the garter rib of the Tangled Yoke. I ended up with the colour Wheat. When I saw the colour in real life, I liked it better than what I have seen in pictures. Believe the colour is a wise choice. I also decided to follow the pattern due to the seam stitch, wonder how it’s going to turn out. Wish you all a nice weekend.

I’ve got mail

pa110084-1.JPGToday my Interweave knits finally came. Decided to knit the Tangled yoke cardigan, just have to find out which colour I’m going to choose. Hopefully a trip to the yarn store tomorrow would make it clear. After seeing the Composed Mitts here, I just loved the colour combinations, and it’s been a very long time since a last did some colourwork. pa110082-1.JPG

I’ve finished my striped sweater, but I have to weave in the ends before posting some pictures. Also I’ve finished the offwhite Le’Slouch. Prefer the one which is a bit more slouchy, but I like pa110059-1.JPGthe brown colour better. So since I had finished all my projects and still waiting on my IK fall, I’ve cast on for the Fetching Wristwarmers. A fun knit and a chance to use some leftovers.

Next project

I love the autumn, my personal knitting season. However it’s also the season for trying to decide what to knitting. Here is two alternatives I’m considering Neaty and Alpine Shrug, I’m not sure what to choose. Initially I would like to make a raglan (yoke?) cardigan or sweater, but I haven’t managed to find a pattern I like. I don’t think that I’ve the courage to make my own pattern. Any thoughts?

Blogging again.

It’s been so long since I’ve blogged, but I haven’t stopped knitting. I’ve decided to start blogging again, and hopefully the autumn outside while make it easier for me to keep my intention this time. Here is some of what I’ve been working lately.

Hermia

Hermia

Pattern: Hermia by Rowan Studio 4

Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Wool, colour Emerald 135

Needles: 4,5mm and 5,5mm

Started: Mid-August 2007

Finished: Mid-September 2007

Notes: Loved knitting this sweater, the yarn was a lovely to knit with. However I wish that I had knitted it a bit smaller. But I’m sure Hermia will come in handy when the winter enters.

Le’ Slouch

p9180244.JPG

Pattern: Le ‘ Slouch from “Knit and Tonic”.

Yarn: Cashmerino aran, colour 008

Needles: 4.5mm and 5mm.

Notes: I chose to knit this with stockinett stitches. Since I changed the needle size, I started with 72 stiches, and increased to 108. I loved the pattern, and will probably make several of these, probably a bit more “slouchy”.

Work in progress
I’ve picked up an UFO, realizing that I had only one arm left. It is knitted in this lovely alpacca. The pattern is from RyClassic Alpaca. I’m looking forward to wear this sweater.

An other project I’ve started is knitting a simple scarf/shawl of Kidsilk Haze. Probably the most simple knitting project in a long time.
